    ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½app Influencers: Jim Strickland

    By ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½app

    September 14, 2021

In this episode of ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½app Influencers, Jim Strickland shares stories of how he founded his firm Historical Concepts, after beginning his career as a builder. When asked about the values that define his award-winning firm, he says "There's no hubris. Nobody can be a part of our firm and be arrogant or feel like they have all the answers because everybody has an answer [. . .] I hope that I can make a difference in terms of giving the credit to the contractor, giving the credit to the sub contractor, giving the credit to the carpenter, the painter, all those people who make us look so good and make it look effortless when we're photographing it."

ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½app Influencers is a new five-part series of interviews with today’s top architects on the topic of legacy and how they were inspired and influenced by past design. Each episode reveals a remarkable variety of design inspirations that shaped one of the leading minds of classical architecture: Patrick Ahearn of Patrick Ahearn Architect, Tom Kligerman of Ike Kligerman Barkley, Peter Pennoyer of Peter Pennoyer Architects, Bobby McAlpine of McAlpine House, and Jim Strickland of Historical Concepts.
