​​The ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½app Celebrates the 40th Annual Arthur Ross Awards

On Monday, October 4th, 2021, after a hiatus of nearly two years, the ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½app (ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½app) was proud to welcome guests back to the in-person 40th Annual Arthur Ross Awards. Architects, designers, artisans, builders, academics, and many more gathered together, occupying two full rooms in a private club in New York City to pay tribute to this year’s honorees: Skurman Architects (Architecture), Hyde Park Mouldings (Artisanship & Craftsmanship), Bob Christian Decorative Art (Fine Arts), Hollander Design Landscape Architects (Landscape), Charles Miers and Rizzoli New York (Publishing), John F. W. Rogers (Patronage), and Michael Lykoudis, FAIA (Board of Directors Honor).

Over 400 practitioners and enthusiasts of classical and traditional architecture and design gathered to celebrate the achievements of these seven honorees, whose life’s work has enriched the built environment, beautified landscapes and interiors, filled libraries, educated thousands of students, and preserved our nation’s architectural treasures. The awards were presented in two rooms by both ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½app Board Chairman Russell Windham and ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½app Board Member Mark Ferguson, with John Roger’s introduction delivered by ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½app President Peter Lyden.

The 2021 Arthur Ross Award winners were selected by a jury that included Bunny Williams (Chair), James Carter, Elizabeth Dillon, Anne Harris, Katherine Herman, Steele Marcoux, and Gil Schafer. Co-Chairs of this year’s Arthur Ross Awards include Anthony Barnes, Nina Campbell, Steven Gambrel, and Suzanne Tucker. Honorary Chairs include Janet C. Ross, Suzanne R. Santry, the late Ambassador and Mrs. William J. vanden Heuvel, and Bunny Williams.

Distinguished guests included Janet Ross, Peter Pennoyer, Tham Kannalikham, and John Rosselli. ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½app Board Members in attendance included Anthony Barnes, Gary Brewer, Timothy Corrigan, Elizabeth Dillon, Stanley Dixon Barbara Eberlein, Richard Economakis, Mark Ferguson, John Flower, Steven Gambrel,, Jared Goss, Kathryn Herman, Kirk Henckels, Thomas Lloyd, Anne Kriken Mann, John Murray, Eric Osth, Mark Pledger, David Rau, Foster Reeve, Suzanne Santry, Peter Talty, Suzanne Tucker, Bunny Williams, Paul Williger, and Russell Windham.
